Watercolor House & Garden

I created a nice little doodle at work while on hold on the phone. I decided to turn it into a watercolor painting. It’s pretty simple, but i really like it. Here it is.

House Blessing

Fr. Joshua came to a few houses of Parishiners of Holy Ascension here in Kalamazoo and one of his stops was at our house!

We went to our friends house across the street for their house blessing and Jonah got splashed in the face and was afraid ever since. Only until it was over and we ate some chips and salsa/avacado did he calm down. He right away asked for Fr. Josh’s chip and then give him his chip. He swapped them to make peace and he smiled :) whew! Hopefully, next year won’t be as traumatic for little JoJo.

Enjoy some pics!

Gingerbread house

This morning “The Cousins” came over for some gingerbread house building fun. We almost ended up using graham crackers and not gingerbread as I failed miserably making the dough for the first batch. (apparently, in this instance you cannot use powdered sugar as a substitute for granulated….and also it helps to have the correct amount of molasses, in case you all were wondering :-) ) Last night on his way home Daddy bailed out my gingerbread dough mess.

So, at 8am Jonahmuffin is eating breakfast and Daddy is helping us do morning prayers and I am rolling the dough and cutting out the pieces and baking them.

Shortly thereafter Oma and Auntie Christyn and the kids arrive and the fun begins. It actually didn’t take long to  get the house put together. It did take some time to put up all the decorations on.

Matthais is a great helper and put on a majority of the marshmallows.

Here are some artsy shots of  the decorating. Where are the other two you may ask? being little angels, of course!

And after lunch and the decorating was all done we of course had to play for a while.

Till next time…

Saturday Morning Adventure Downtown

Saturday Morning we went downtown to look at the Nativity scene, lights, get some eggnog flavored, vegan, soy latte’s and chai teas. Then we went to Ace Cycles, a new scooter shop, at the Kalamazoo outdoor mall. Then we swung by the Library to get warm on the way back to the car. It was frigid that day!

Shout out’s to “Somethings Brewing,” “Ace Cycles,” “KPL” and Bronson Park.

We’ll keep you “posted” on what happens next time!

Here’s our first sticky snow of the season. Props to mom & Jonah for helping me to document this spectacular event.

Four wheels good, two wheels bad…

Maybe i should write a book called “Transportation Farm” as a satyrical counterpart to “Animal Farm.”

Well, I put the Moped in the basement this past weekend due to a snowy forcast for later this week. The low 30 degrees F is pretty cold as it is today.

Now I should take Steve’s advice and turn that new skateboard into a sled or pair of skies.

Find those mittens,
